Light gauge steel (LGS) detailing is the work of turning an architect's plans and an engineer's design into the precise manufacturing drawings and 3D models that a rollformer needs to produce steel wall frames, floor systems and roof trusses. It's the invisible layer between design and manufacture — and it's a genuinely skilled profession.

Most detailers in Australia work alone or in very small teams. They use software like FRAMECAD, Vertex BD, Scottsdale and Tekla, and they rarely have anyone else in the room who understands what they do. FRAMA exists to change that — to connect detailers to each other, to fabricators, engineers and suppliers, and to give the profession a collective voice.

Our mission is simple: raise the profile of LGS detailing in Australia, support the next generation coming into the industry, and make sure detailers have the network, tools and recognition their work deserves.
